The term White Australia policy comprises various historical policies that effectively only allowed immigrants to Australia from the UK and other European countries. There was never any specific policy entitled such, but the term was coined later to describe a collection of policies that sought to exclude people from Asia, initially China and the Melanesian Pacific islands.
